Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Team Lead for the Android platform to own core product work, write code, and lead the team to deliver features end-to-end. You will review code, ensure reliability, and drive architectural decisions while maintaining a hands-on role.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software engineering, deep Kotlin expertise, and experience with long-running background tasks and Android UI/UX improvements. This is a remote US-based role with potential for stock options.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on team leadership.
• Strong Android/Kotlin capabilities and Android architecture, MVVM.
• Experience shipping long-running background work and audio.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, from concept to release.
• Maintain reliability metrics for key features.
• Review pull requests and give constructive feedback.
• Unblock the team and resolve blockers quickly.
• Shift verification left and improve nightly QA.
• Plan sprints and balance work across Product, Design, and Engineering.
