Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Quality Control Technician for the second shift in Carpinteria, CA. The role performs basic routine lab tasks, tests materials and documents results to support release steps in manufacturing.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma, 1 year lab experience preferred, and familiarity with GDP and calibrated instruments. Responsibilities include sample prep, instrument readiness, inventory upkeep, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 1 year of laboratory experience preferred.
• Experience handling chemicals safely and with basic physical chemistry parameters.
• Basic experience using calibrated instruments and GDP awareness.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic routine QC testing under supervision (appearance, pH, viscosity, etc.).
• Prepare samples and handle tests from submittal to disposal following approved methods.
• Keep instruments clean, calibrated, and ready; report testing status during shifts.
• Assist with inventory, labeling, and proper storage of supplies.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain documentation per quality standards.
• Support non-routine testing and investigations as needed.
