Job summary

Avantor is seeking a Quality Control Technician for the second shift (2:00pm - 10:30pm) to support day-to-day manufacturing lab duties and material qualifications. You will perform routine tests, maintain documentation, and ensure instrument readiness while following GDP and safety procedures.

The role emphasizes basic lab skills, attention to detail, effective teamwork, and the ability to read and follow procedures under supervision.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
1 year laboratory experience preferred; safe chemical handling.
Experience with basic physical chemistry parameters (pH, pressure, temperature).
Basic experience using calibrated instruments.
Preferred: GDP knowledge and good documentation practices.

Responsibilities

Perform basic routine testing (appearance, viscosity, pH, loss on drying, etc.).
Prepare samples for outside testing by following procedures.
Handle samples from submittal to disposal.
Ensure compliance with quality standards and document results.
Follow applicable safety procedures and perform routine cleaning of instruments and workstations.
Assist with Hazardous Waste disposal and keep retain sample areas organized.
May assist with non-routine testing under supervision.
Update team on testing status and instrument readiness.
