Job summary

Pact in Boulder, CO seeks a Contract Technical Designer to support the Design team, translating hand sketches and CADs into production-ready flats and comprehensive design tech packs that guide execution from concept through development.

This fast-paced contract role requires organizational rigor, deep technical knowledge of construction across fabrics, and the ability to meet tight deadlines with accuracy while collaborating with design and product teams.

Qualifications

• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of garment construction across knits, wovens, and fully fashioned knitwear.
• Familiarity with PLM software; Centric PLM experience is a plus.
• Prior experience in a technical design role within apparel, ideally at a DTC or fast-paced consumer brand.
• Knowledge of sustainable materials, particularly organic cotton, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Translate hand sketches/concepts into precise, production-ready technical flats.
• Design, illustrate, and provide technical sketches of new styles each season.
• Create and maintain detailed design tech packs for styles from basics to complex multi-component garments.
• Spec and call out construction, materials, trims, finishes across wovens, knits, and fully fashioned knits.
• Execute color across all seasonal CADs and participate in fit sessions, capturing adjustments.
• Collaborate with Design and Product Development to ensure clear communication of design intent.
• Maintain file organization, tech pack execution, and development timelines.
• Use Adobe Creative Suite, Fermat AI, and PLM to create/update tech packs, flats, and documentation.
• Manage multiple projects, delivering high-quality work on time in a fast-paced environment.
