Job summary

Perdue Farms is seeking a Machine Operator for the Production department. You’ll maintain, service, and perform repairs on production equipment to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations.

Your hands-on work directly supports product quality, equipment reliability, and daily production success. You will read manuals, perform PM tasks, schedule repairs, monitor equipment performance, keep logbooks, and assist newer technicians.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent is required.
• 2–4 years of experience are required.
• Reading, writing and analytical skills are required.
• Must always have personal tools and be able to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret and understand manufacturers' equipment manuals, preventative (PM) task sheets and safety policies.
• Perform equipment adjustments and repairs, preventative maintenance and emergency breakdowns.
• Perform specific duties during both production and non-production hours in a timely manner with OSHA Lockout/Tagout and Company safety regulations.
• Monitor performance of equipment and informs maintenance and production supervisors of potential problems.
• Maintain logbooks by applying math skills through the equipment PM stages to calibrate machinery to performance standards.
• Provide "hands on" training and direction to lower-level mechanics and techs in properly servicing, repairing and maintaining the equipment operated by the Company.
• Keep equipment clean throughout the shift and deep clean after shift. (if applicable).
