Job summary

Danfoss is seeking a Product Engineering Intern to join our core design team in Ames, IA. You’ll work on hydrostatic product lines, from concepts to hands-on testing, gaining real engineering experience in a state-of-the-art lab.

You’ll design and analyze components, run tests to validate designs, develop new features, and create essential documentation and drawings alongside experienced engineers. This role is a hands-on, summer internship with ongoing part-time support during school year.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering.
• Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude.
• Proactive, curious problem-solver who works independently and in a team.
• Excellent communication and a self-starter attitude.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer and part-time (at least 8 hours/week) during the school year.

Responsibilities

• Use engineering skills to design and analyze components and systems for hydrostatic product lines.
• Get hands-on in the lab, running tests and validating designs to meet performance and reliability standards.
• Contribute to innovation by developing new features and design improvements.
• Create and maintain essential engineering documentation and drawings for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with a team of product engineers and contribute to shared project goals.
