DN, a leader in liquid storage design and construction, invites you to join as a Preconstruction Estimating Intern in Irving, TX. You will gain hands-on experience under a dedicated mentor and contribute to real projects from conception to completion.

This internship offers exposure to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, and bid processes, with opportunities to visit tank sites and learn the lifecycle of heavy-civil construction. Competitive hourly pay and professional development are provided.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an Engineering or Construction Management undergraduate program; Civil Engineering preferred.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
• Willing to relocate to Irving, TX.

Responsibilities

• Assist Regional Estimators with the evaluation of project site conditions and the generation of tank site layout drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare earthwork takeoffs using Civil 3D and sitework cost estimates using Excel.
• Solicit bid level pricing for cranes, rebar installation, fence work, and various other subcontractor scopes of work.
• Preparation of Requests for Quotation after local subcontractors have been identified.
• Gain insight into the process of developing and bidding construction projects.
• Opportunities to visit our local tank construction sites.
