Job summary

Advanced Materials Manufacturing in Frederick, Maryland is seeking a Plant Manager to lead its 30-person operation as it scales pilot technology toward full commercial capacity. The role emphasizes on‑the‑floor leadership, structure, accountability, and disciplined execution.

You’ll partner with engineering, maintenance, and suppliers to evolve processes, build bench strength, ensure safety, and position the site for growth into larger facilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of manufacturing experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Experience leading plant operations or production teams; Plant Manager title not required.
• Strong shop-floor leadership with credibility across operators and supervisors.
• Experience implementing SOPs, training, accountability, 5S, CI, and operating discipline.
• Experience with continuous/process-oriented manufacturing; wood products not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the floor, building trust across shifts and teams.
• Professionalize plant operations with SOPs, training and routines.
• Develop the organization by coaching production leaders and operators.
• Improve performance using data, disciplined problem solving, and safety focus.
• Support scale-up by partnering with engineering, maintenance, and suppliers.
• Own safe, reliable operations with compliant manufacturing priorities.
• Build scalable practices for future, larger facilities.
