Job summary

Canopy A&D seeks a hands-on Director of Operational Technology to own manufacturing tech and IT operations at the Irvine, CA facility. You will drive OT/IT strategy on the shop floor and in the network room, while leading a team, managing vendors, and owning the budget.

You will ensure uptime, compliance (CMMC, ITAR, SOC 2), and security across OT and IT, reporting to the CIO and collaborating with Quality, Facilities, and Engineering. This is a full-time, on-site role in Irvine.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in information or operational technology, including at least 4 years leading a team with direct-report and budget accountability.
• Minimum 5 years supporting discrete manufacturing; aerospace, defense, or another regulated manufacturing sector required.
• Hands-on experience with OT / industrial control environments — machine-tool networks, PLC/HMI/SCADA, or shop-floor data collection.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site IT/OT team and act as deputy to the CIO; manage MSP, VAR, and equipment vendors; own the technology budget.
• Own day-to-day IT service delivery for multiple sites; ensure uptime of ERP/MES, DNC, shop-floor data collection, and quality systems.
• Maintain compliance across CMMC, ITAR, SOC 2; support audits and implement NIST SP 800-171 controls in OT/IT scope.
• Oversee security, incident response, and IT/OT governance across the Irvine site; coordinate with Legal and Facility Security Officer.
