Job summary

Canopy Aerospace & Defense seeks a hands-on Director of Operational Technology to own day-to-day manufacturing technology and IT operations in Irvine, CA. The role combines OT network leadership with IT responsibilities on-site, reporting to the CIO and driving uptime and compliance on the production floor.

The ideal candidate will manage vendors, budgets, and audits while ensuring secure, compliant operations across ERP/MES/PLM interfaces and factory-floor systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in information or operational technology with leadership experience.
• 5+ years supporting discrete manufacturing in regulated sectors.
• Hands-on OT/industrial control governance and security experience.
• Experience implementing NIST SP 800-171/CMMC readiness and DFARS.
• Experience with ERP/PLM integrations and MS enterprise networking.

Responsibilities

• Own OT network, devices, segmentation, and security controls.
• Lead IT service delivery across multiple sites and budgets.
• Maintain OT asset inventory with version and patch status.
• Enforce site compliance for CMMC, ITAR, and SOC 2.
• Oversee ERP/MES/PLM integrations and licensing servers.
