Job summary

Korro Bio, Inc. is seeking a motivated Research Associate to join the Oligonucleotide Chemistry team in Cambridge, MA. The role focuses on synthesizing, purifying, and characterizing chemically modified oligonucleotides and conjugates for screening across discovery programs.

The successful candidate will operate automated platforms, maintain instruments, and document results with meticulous records and clear communication to cross-functional teams. On-site position with hands-on lab work.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field with 1+ year of lab experience.
• Hands-on synthesis, purification, and analysis of oligonucleotides.
• Experience with high-throughput synthesizers like Mermade 192 is a plus.
• Strong bench skills, problem solving, and instrument maintenance ability.
• Excellent communication and organization in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform solid-phase synthesis, purification, and conjugation of oligos on automated platforms.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot oligo synthesis equipment (Mermade 12/192).
• Cross-train across synthesis scales and instruments as needed.
• Maintain inventory of chemicals and amidites; ensure safety and compliance.
• Conduct in-process and final analytics of oligonucleotide samples.
• Track data, present findings to team, and keep electronic notebooks updated.
• Participate in training and provide guidance to others; write SOPs and reports.
