Job summary

TDI Technologies, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Test & Evaluation Engineer to provide hands-on engineering support to NSWCPD for laboratory testing and analysis of HM&E systems.

You will develop test plans, collect data, calibrate instrumentation, analyze results using MATLAB, and report findings in technical documentation.

Ideal candidate is an early- to mid-career mechanical engineer comfortable balancing lab and office work and communicating results to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited college.
• Minimum of three years of engineering experience.
• Experience in lab R&D, testing, data acquisition, processing, and analysis.
• Experience using MATLAB for engineering data analysis.
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation, sensors, and DAQ systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, procedures, and specs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
• Hands-on lab environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support detailed test plans for laboratory HM&E testing.
• Document test procedures, safety instructions, and test results.
• Execute tests and collect data per plans.
• Configure, calibrate, and maintain DAQ hardware and sensors.
• Analyze data using MATLAB and develop scripts as needed.
• Communicate findings to engineers and stakeholders.
• Prepare technical reports and charts from test data.
• Support setup, operation, and teardown of lab equipment.
