Job summary

Midjourney Inc. in San Francisco is seeking a hands-on QA/test engineer to drive end-to-end validation of electromechanical systems with software components. You will execute weekly system-level tests, triage issues with clear reproduction steps, and work with engineering to validate fixes.

Ideally you bring experience building and maintaining test plans and protocols, plus comfort operating lab equipment. You will support DHF traceability and contribute to automation efforts where feasible.

Qualifications

• Experience directly testing complex electromechanical systems with software components.
• Ability to document bugs clearly and assess risk and impact.
• Proven track record creating and maintaining test plans and test protocols.

Responsibilities

• Execute weekly system-level exploratory testing across scanner and software; log issues with clear reproduction steps.
• Collaborate with engineering to debug root causes and validate fixes.
• Maintain the DHF and ensure traceability between user needs, design requirements, tests and results.
• Own test execution logistics: fixtures, data, environments and calibration artifacts for repeatability.
• Contribute to continuous testing strategy: automated tests where feasible and structured manual/system tests.
• Support V&V activities and coordinate with external partners as needed.
