Job summary

Ash Grove Cement Company in Branford, FL is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment across the cement plant. You will work with conveyors, pumps, kilns, mills, and supporting hydraulic/pneumatic systems in a 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

schedule, with overtime and after-hours as needed. The role requires a high school diploma plus 1+ year of relevant experience; millwright or related training is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of mechanical maintenance or related hands‑on experience preferred.
• Millwright, Industrial Maintenance, trade school, apprenticeship, or related training preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of mechanical equipment and troubleshooting.
• Experience with conveyors, bearings, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, fabrication or similar equipment is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand basic blueprints, equipment instructions, diagrams, warning labels, and safety documentation.
• Basic math, measurement, and computer skills.
• Ability to work independently while also communicating with supervisors, coworkers, contractors, and production employees.
• Willingness to learn new equipment and maintenance techniques; training will be provided.
• Must be willing to work overtime, alternate shifts, and respond to after-hours call-ins.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment throughout the plant.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace components on conveyors, pumps, bearings, fans, mills, kilns, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other plant equipment.
• Read and work from blueprints, equipment drawings, prints, and sketches to complete maintenance and repair activities.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and assist with root cause analysis to improve equipment reliability.
• Respond to production maintenance calls and assist with plant outages, special projects, and contractor activities.
• Operate mobile equipment and assist with basic maintenance of plant vehicles and equipment as required.
• Maintain maintenance areas in accordance with 5S standards and follow spill-control procedures.
• Follow all plant safety procedures and maintain safe work practices while completing maintenance activities.
