Job summary

Cushing Terrell in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support our Mechanical Engineering team on real client projects. This in-person internship offers hands-on engineering experience with calculations and designing mechanical systems, including building heating and cooling load analyses.

You will model mechanical and plumbing systems in Revit and AutoCAD, prepare equipment schedules, and compile project specifications while reviewing codes such as IMC, UPC and ASHRAE.

Qualifications

• Completion of 3+ years of a mechanical engineering or related undergraduate program.
• Basic knowledge of Revit or AutoCAD.
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Bluebeam.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering calculations and mechanical system design, including heating and cooling load calculations.
• Support the modeling of mechanical and plumbing systems in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Help schedule mechanical equipment and compile project specifications.
• Review building codes and standards, including IMC, UPC, and ASHRAE.
• Collaborate with teams across offices and project locations.
• Attend site visits before and during construction with project leads.
