Job summary

Storion Energy is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-op to start January 2027 through July 2027 in Billerica, MA. This on-site role requires five days in the office and supports battery stack development and prototype assembly on cutting-edge projects.

You will work with senior engineers on concept development, testing, DOE, and CAD modeling in SolidWorks, performing tolerance analyses and creating manufacturing drawings. Housing and transportation to MA are required.

Qualifications

• Working towards BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Housing and transportation to our Billerica, MA location.
• Must be able to work with battery electrolyte and wear PPE.
• Ability to lift 30-pound boxes.
• Students entering their second or third Co-op preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support product development including concept development and testing.
• Hands-on testing in the electrochemical lab and shop floor.
• Operate pilot-scale sub-scale and full-scale equipment and machinery.
• Data collection, processing, and analysis.
• Designing and modeling stack parts, GD&T, and subassemblies within SolidWorks.
• Generating and modifying manufacturing drawings and applying GD&T.
• Performing tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Performing preliminary structural analysis within SolidWorks.
• Performing design calculations related to strength, temperature, and flow for the stack parts.
• Design for Manufacture and Assembly.
• Assembly, testing, debugging, and documentation for mechanical fixtures and devices.
