Harris offers a Summer 2027 Mechanical Design Intern position in Saint Paul, MN. You will apply classroom knowledge to real projects, assisting with envisioning, designing and delivering innovative mechanical systems that meet customer needs and improve efficiency and cost effectiveness in construction and operation.

You will gain experience in the Mechanical/HVAC/Plumbing design process, get a real preview of the role, and collaborate with other departments to understand how your work impacts

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, energy engineering, or related field.
• Basic understanding of low-energy, high-performance, resilient and sustainable design for mechanical systems.
• Strong math, accuracy and detail-oriented skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering knowledge to design mechanical systems and assist with envisioning and delivering innovative solutions.
• Gain exposure to the Mechanical/HVAC/Plumbing design process and related workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and translate classroom concepts into real-world projects.
• Support the design team in coordinating with other departments and stakeholders.
