Job summary

Amentum Technology, Inc. Advanced Solutions group invites qualified mechanical engineering students for a Summer 2027 internship in Tullahoma, TN.

Interns will work under a technical manager in the Process Mechanical or Machine Design group, gaining hands-on experience designing complex testing equipment for automotive and aerospace sectors. The internship runs ~10 weeks with 40-hour weeks, June–August, with a mentor and end-of-assignment presentation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering.
• GPA 3.0+; rising sophomore or above.
• Eligible to work in the United States (US citizen).
• Experience with statics, dynamics, strength of materials.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in routine tasks under supervision.
• Prepare computations, specifications, and reports of limited scope.
• Design and analyze mechanical systems to meet project requirements.
• May coordinate 3D models and drawings with drafters.
