Job summary

AMS Industries, Inc. is offering a 10-week Summer Internship Program across multiple locations in Illinois and Tennessee. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in mechanical construction, supporting engineering staff on real projects and learning design, build, and installation processes.

This paid internship (about $20 per hour) emphasizes mentorship, exposure to field and office work, and potential full-time opportunities after graduation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in an accredited Engineering program (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Construction Management).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Mathematical reasoning and attention to detail.
• Ability to work full-time (40+ hours/week) during the 10-week summer program.

Responsibilities

• Work with Engineering staff to support construction projects.
• Apply classroom training to develop understanding of Mechanical Systems and support design, build, and installation.
• Collaborate with the engineering team on Design-Build projects to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Assist in managing project documentation and plans.
• Partner with estimating, design, and Project Management teams to gain exposure to the full spectrum of the mechanical construction process.
