New York Technology Partners seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop complex industrial equipment in Rochester, NY. You will translate concepts into buildable, reliable systems and partner with manufacturing to drive manufacturability.

The role emphasizes hands‑on design, GD&T application, and collaboration with multiple engineering disciplines to deliver robust equipment from concept to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience designing industrial machinery or complex mechanical systems.
• Strong 3D CAD experience with Creo/SolidWorks/Inventor.
• Understanding of GD&T, drawings, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with mechanical assemblies, tooling, fixtures, or machine components.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with automation, pneumatics, hydraulics, or similar equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, assemblies, and equipment using 3D CAD.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings and supporting documentation.
• Work with large assemblies, tooling, fixtures, and machine structures.
• Apply GD&T and design-for-manufacturing principles.
• Perform calculations and analysis to support mechanical design.
• Support product development from concept through release and production.
• Create and maintain bills of materials and engineering docs.
• Participate in design reviews and identify risks.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, controls, applications, service, and purchasing.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues during build, testing, and production.
• Support engineering changes and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to improve manufacturability, cost, quality, and performance.
