Job summary

A Troy-area manufacturer of engineered mechanical components is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer. You will own designs from concept through production, create new components and mechanisms, and work directly with machinists, builders, customers and controls engineers to ensure successful implementations.

Strong CAD skills with 3D modeling and GD&T expertise are required; Autodesk Inventor experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of mechanical design experience with components, mechanisms, and automation.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerancing.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD; Inventor experience is a plus.
• Ability to interface with machinists, engineers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Own designs from concept through manufacturing and production.
• Create new components and mechanisms, not just revisions.
• Collaborate with machinists, customers and controls engineers.
• Validate designs in production environments and tests with sensors and automation.
