Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a marine service technician in the Punta Gorda area to perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on boat systems. You will follow manuals, document work, and ensure safety while contributing to efficient service delivery.

Ideal candidates have basic mechanical experience, own basic tools, and can travel daily to club locations. Training and teamwork are emphasized, with opportunities to participate in events and refurbishments.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical or technical experience gained through work, education, or personal projects.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks accurately and with attention to detail.
• Ability to learn in a hands-on, production-driven environment.
• Familiarity with hand tools.
• Ability to provide personal basic-use tools and toolbox.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including batteries and charging systems.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures, technical instructions, and safety requirements.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to document completed work.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and accountability.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record per company standards.
• Daily travel to and from club locations.
• Preferred: Experience in a mechanical or technical field such as marine, automotive, powersports, HVAC, or similar.
• Preferred: Completion of technical training, trade school, or certification program.
• Preferred: Familiarity with marine systems, boating operations, or vessel handling.
• Preferred: Exposure to dealerships, operations centers, or refurbishment facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes and component replacements.
• Support diagnostics, repairs, and installations across marine systems.
• Complete assigned service tasks accurately and efficiently with minimal rework.
• Follow repair procedures, service manuals, and safety protocols.
• Assist with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.
• Review service orders and specifications.
• Track and record labor, time, and task completion.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Support vessel staging, movement, and operational readiness across service locations.
• Assist with refurbishment and reconditioning activities.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve repair challenges and improve workflow.
• Participate in training programs, team meetings, and communications using Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
• Support events, promotions, and boat shows as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
