Job summary

Thomas Built Buses, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Assembly Process Engineer I for a hybrid Portland, OR role. The engineer will support development, implementation, and improvement of assembly processes, tooling concepts, and workstation designs.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, collaboration with plant teams, and sustaining safety, quality, and productivity across manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• Foundational ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specs and manufacturing docs.
• Willingness to travel 20–25% to support operations and projects across North America.

Responsibilities

• Support development, implementation, and improvement of assembly manufacturing processes.
• Assist with layouts, tooling concepts, workstation designs, and flows.
• Support safety-critical systems, tooling, automation, and controls.
