Job summary

KCO Resource Management is partnering with a Cortland, NY area food manufacturer to hire an experienced Maintenance Manager. You will lead a hands-on maintenance team, drive reliability, and stay involved in troubleshooting and repairs to keep production running smoothly.

This role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, PLC troubleshooting, and a track record of implementing preventative maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing (food/beverage preferred).
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience with hands-on approach.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of PLC systems; programming not required.
• Experience developing and executing preventative maintenance programs.
• Ability to guide maintenance technicians and troubleshoot issues independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor maintenance team while remaining hands-on.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Work with technicians to diagnose failures and implement long-term solutions.
• Improve maintenance schedules, procedures, and documentation.
• Prioritize activities with production leadership to meet goals.
• Identify opportunities to reduce downtime and increase efficiency.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, and expansions.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety and food safety policies.
