Job summary

Encompass Community Services is seeking a Maintenance Manager in Santa Cruz, CA. This role combines leadership with hands‑on maintenance across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and more, overseeing a small team and coordinating budgets, bids, and vendor work.

You will train staff, supervise daily operations, and ensure timely completion of repairs and inspections at HUD properties and sites in the community.

Qualifications

• 5 years of hands‑on property maintenance experience (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC).
• Proven supervision experience of maintenance staff.
• Strong computer skills and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and direct the Maintenance Team.
• Diagnose problems and prioritize repairs; decide in-house vs. vendor work.
• Train staff on repair techniques and safety standards.
• Oversee maintenance schedules, vendor bids, and budgets.
