Job summary

HR Green, Inc. is seeking a Land Development Engineering Intern to learn how sites are planned and designed from the ground up.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and designers to understand grading, drainage, roads, utilities, and site layout for residential, commercial, and institutional projects. This internship is hands-on and collaborative, offering exposure to Civil 3D and real project work, with opportunities to grow and explore different areas of civil engineering within HR

Qualifications

• Be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Be available to work full time during Summer 2027, typically from mid May or early June through early August
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, surveying, site design, grading, drainage, stormwater, or other civil engineering tools is a plus, but previous Land Development or engineering internship experience is not required

Responsibilities

• Support site design for residential, commercial, institutional, or industrial development projects
• Assist with site layouts, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility design
• Help prepare engineering calculations, drawings, plans, and project documentation
• Gain exposure to Civil 3D and other engineering and design tools
• Support materials prepared for municipalities and other review agencies
• Participate in field visits and project discussions to see how designs connect to real site conditions
• Work alongside engineers and designers while learning how the different pieces of a development come together
