Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Lead Architect for a hands-on technical leadership role in Dallas, TX. You will define and deliver end-to-end solution architecture for complex client and internal initiatives, guiding delivery teams to scalable, secure, and maintainable systems aligned with modernization goals.

Responsibilities include leading architecture reviews, mentoring senior engineers, supporting pre-sales with estimates, and establishing engineering guardrails. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science or related field.
• 15+ years of software development experience.
• 12+ years of hands-on Java experience.
• 5+ years of AWS experience.
• 5+ years as a Practice/Lead Architect.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution architecture for a domain or major initiative, including integrations, data flows, and non-functional requirements.
• Define and govern architecture for large-scale, distributed systems across platforms.
• Translate business goals into a pragmatic technical roadmap with leadership.
• Lead architecture and design reviews; document key decisions and guardrails.
• Stay hands-on through prototypes, reference implementations, and critical-path development.
