Job summary

J&O Plastics in Rittman, OH is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead an injection molding production team on the second or third shift. You are responsible for people, decisions, execution, and output, serving as the senior leader on your shift with autonomy and accountability for safety and quality.

You will direct production across 45 presses, assign staff, monitor real-time metrics, manage mold changes, and escalate issues to Senior Production Management while sustaining 5S and

Qualifications

• Three to five years of manufacturing leadership, team-lead, or production supervision experience.
• Knowledge of 5S, Lean manufacturing, standard work, visual management.
• Experience with root-cause methods such as 5-Why, 8D, DMAIC, fishbone.
• Strong communication, decision-making, prioritization, and conflict-resolution.

Responsibilities

• Direct injection molding production across 45 presses on the assigned shift.
• Assign employees based on production needs and qualifications.
• Monitor output, machine status, cycle performance, labor utilization, downtime, scrap, and quality in real time.
• Execute mold changes and changeovers to established setup standards.
• Identify and resolve schedule risks, staffing shortages, equipment problems, and material concerns early.
• Recognize strong performance and address performance concerns.
• Maintain a professional, respectful, and accountable workplace culture.
• Deliver a complete handoff to the incoming Shift Leader.
• Sustain 5S, standard work, and visual management on the shift.
