Sherwood Valve, a Control Devices company, is seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to design, program, install, and optimize automation across our Brooklyn, OH manufacturing operations. You will work hands-on with PLCs, HMIs, robots, and production equipment to deploy solutions from concept through testing and production support.

The role requires 3+ years of PLC/automation experience, a BS in electrical/controls engineering, and the ability to collaborate with maintenance and engineering

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls/Automation or related engineering field.
• 3+ years of hands-on PLC programming and manufacturing automation experience.
• Proficient with Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram.
• Experience with robotic cells, system integration, and commissioning/validation protocols.

Mansioni

• Write, modify, and debug PLC programs using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram.
• Develop and update HMI screens, alarms, and operator interfaces.
• Program and troubleshoot industrial robots, robotic cells, fixturing, sensors, drives, and PLC equipment.
• Diagnose electrical/control issues on the production floor and implement corrective actions.
• Design improvements to automated assembly equipment and production processes.
• Install, test, and validate new or modified automation systems and protocols.
• Create electrical schematics, control diagrams, and maintenance documentation.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operators, and engineers to resolve issues and optimize integration.
• Verify production processes meet cycle times, output rates, and quality standards.
• Apply machine safety practices and reduce downtime.
• Train operators and maintenance staff on operation and troubleshooting.
