Job summary

Pave Talent is partnering with a commercial landscaping company serving Dallas–Fort Worth and Houston to lead HR for 400–450 hourly employees across four Texas locations. The role reports to the VP of HR within a fast-growing, multi-state parent company.

Initially hands-on with payroll and HR operations, the right candidate will grow the function as acquisitions expand in Texas, working onsite at multiple sites with travel to Houston as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR generalist experience.
• Multi-site HR for an hourly, blue-collar workforce (manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, construction, or landscaping).
• Able to work fully onsite.
• Bilingual English and Spanish.
• An HRIS implementation behind you (Paylocity a plus; ADP, UKG, or Dayforce absolutely fine).
• Training content, SOPs, or an LMS built from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly payroll for 400–450 employees.
• Partner with leaders on hiring, training, and compliance.
• Own employee relations: investigations, corrective action, and performance management.
• Own I-9 and E-Verify compliance, leaves of absence, and Texas employment law across all sites.
• Oversee onboarding, personnel changes, and offboarding.
• Finish HRIS integration with timekeeping and job-costing platforms.
• Roll out time attestation so hourly employees clock their own time.
• Document SOPs and launch a learning management system (LMS).
• Hands-on payroll processing, not just approval or oversight.
