Job summary

Liberty Waste Solutions is seeking an experienced, hands-on Human Resources Manager to lead the day-to-day HR function and manage our HR team supporting a fast-paced, multi-location workforce.

This role will oversee employee relations, HR compliance, recruiting and onboarding, benefits, 401(k) administration, weekly payroll, and leave administration, working closely with operational and executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
• Experience managing or leading an HR team.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance.
• Experience supporting a multi-location and/or multi-state workforce preferred.
• Experience overseeing payroll required; weekly payroll experience preferred.
• Experience with 401(k), benefits, and leave administration preferred.
• Experience handling employee relations, investigations, corrective actions, and terminations.
• HRIS/payroll system experience; ADP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop the HR team, including setting priorities, delegating responsibilities, and ensuring accountability.
• Serve as the primary HR partner to managers and leadership across multiple locations.
• Oversee employee relations, including investigations, performance management, corrective actions, conflict resolution, and terminations.
• Own and oversee company-wide HR compliance, ensuring policies and practices comply with employment laws.
• Manage FMLA, ADA accommodations, unemployment claims, HR reporting, recordkeeping, and other compliance matters.
• Oversee recruiting, hiring, and onboarding for hourly and salaried positions.
• Oversee the Company's weekly payroll process, including audits, timecard compliance, pay changes, deductions, and payroll issues.
• Oversee employee benefits administration and serve as the primary HR contact for brokers, carriers, and vendors.
• Serve as the Company's 401(k) Plan Administrator, with vendors on eligibility, contributions, plan administration, and filings.
• Partner with Safety on workers' compensation claims and return-to-work processes.
• Maintain accurate employee data in HRIS and collaborate with Operations, Safety, and Finance on workforce matters.
