Job summary

Portland Bolt & Manufacturing Co. is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Generalist to support our East Coast manufacturing operations.

You will manage full-cycle recruiting, payroll processing, onboarding, and employee relations across multiple sites, while ensuring compliance with federal and state laws. Join a small, dedicated HR team where you’ll balance competing priorities, contribute to safety and engagement initiatives, and help shape the employee experience across shifts and facilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• At least 3 years of HR Generalist experience preferred, including hands-on payroll processing.
• Bilingual in Spanish required.
• Manufacturing or multi-site experience a plus.
• Strong knowledge of federal employment laws and regulations (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, OSHA).
• Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems (Paycom preferred) and Microsoft 365 suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions, including postings, screening, interviewing, and offers.
• Partner with department managers to understand required skills and competencies for open positions.
• Conduct background checks and verify employment eligibility; facilitate onboarding and orientation.
• Serve as first point of contact for employee questions; support employee relations, investigations, and performance management.
• Process payroll cycles accurately; manage time/attendance, deductions, and reconciliations; maintain HRIS records.
• Administer leaves of absence and accommodations in compliance with law (FMLA, ADA, state programs).
• Support benefits enrollment, life events, and compliance with federal/state regulations; assist with safety and reporting.
