Job summary

VP Management, LLC is seeking an Assistant General Manager (AGM) to oversee hotel operations, drive profitability and uphold service and product quality in Salem, Virginia. This hands-on role requires strong leadership and front desk involvement.

You will manage day-to-day tasks, train staff, enforce policies, and coordinate maintenance and safety programs while reporting to the General Manager. The AGM will actively participate in Front Desk operations and guest service.

Qualifications

• Proficient with computers and a strong background in the hospitality industry.
• Previous Front Desk and/or hotel experience required.
• 2-4 years management experience
• Must have FULL availability

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations and assignments of the hotel.
• Plan and organize work, communicate goals, and schedule/delegate work.
• Advise staff of formal policies and procedures, identify options and resolve issues.
• Initiate disciplinary, or other staff related actions in accordance with company policies.
• Establish and maintain preventative maintenance programs to protect the physical assets of the hotel.
• Ensure all staff are properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job functions.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and hotel assets. Comply with our corporate Health and Safety programs.
• This position reports directly to the General Manager of the hotel, as this is a hands on position the (AGM) will be required to conduct his or her responsibilities while playing an active role with the Front Desk operations.
