Job summary

C.H. Thompson Finishing is seeking a hands-on Health & Safety Manager to lead and execute safety, housekeeping (5S), and environmental compliance initiatives across multiple manufacturing facilities.

You will work on the floor with employees and leadership to build a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. The role involves developing practical safety programs, conducting inspections, training, and coordinating with plant leadership to enhance operations while ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing or metal finishing is preferred.
• Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve health and safety programs across multiple facilities.
• Build a culture of safety, housekeeping, organization, and accountability.
• Spend time on production floors identifying opportunities to improve safety and efficiency.
• Standardize safety and housekeeping practices across all locations.
• Lead opportunities for 5S, visual management, and continuous improvement in operations.
• Perform routine safety inspections and corrective actions.
• Investigate workplace injuries, incidents, near misses, and environmental events.
