Job summary

Talent Edge Recruiting's client, a family-owned contract manufacturer and industrial automation firm, seeks a hands-on General Manager to lead 10–15 managers across production, engineering, quality, procurement, and project management on the factory floor in York, PA. This role blends strategic leadership with daily shop-floor involvement.

You will drive Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensure OSHA and quality standards, manage KPIs, and align production with customer specs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Electrical/Industrial Eng, Operations)
• Proven manufacturing operations leadership experience
• Hands-on leader with track record of improving processes and accountability

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily manufacturing operations including panels, wiring assemblies, cable/wire harnesses.
• Lead, mentor, and hold managers and supervisors accountable for priorities and deadlines.
• Conduct daily and weekly operational meetings to review production status and actions.
• Establish accountability; drive decisions, action plans, and resolutions.
• Monitor KPIs: throughput, efficiency, defect rates, lead times, on-time delivery.
• Optimize labor, equipment, workflow, and resources to improve productivity.
• Oversee purchasing, material planning, inventory, suppliers, and vendor relationships.
• Drive Lean, 5S, workflow optimization, and process standardization.
• Ensure production follows drawings, BOMs, specs, and electrical standards.
• Partner with Engineering to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
• Work cross-functionally with Sales and Project Management to align requirements and schedules.
• Support FAT, audits, and customer inspections as needed.
• Develop management team; foster accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Serve as primary operational leader for people and processes on the shop floor.
