Qualifications

  • 10+ years in manufacturing, production, or industrial operations.
  • 3–5+ years leading manufacturing or production teams.
  • Experience managing supervisors, technicians, assemblers, fabricators, or other hourly production employees.
  • Background in industrial equipment, power systems, electrical equipment, engine or generator packaging, oil & gas equipment, fabrication, or comparable environments.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S/6S, production scheduling, workforce planning, or continuous improvement.
  • Track record improving throughput, quality, labor efficiency, scrap/rework, safety, or delivery.
  • Ability to move between daily floor execution and longer-term capacity/process planning.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Improve throughput, safety, quality, and production reliability.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, and Quality.
  • Develop supervisors and frontline production leaders.
  • Support hiring, workforce planning, performance management, and employee development.
  • Build repeatable manufacturing processes that can support increased production volume.
  • Participate in capacity planning, budgeting, and facility-growth decisions.

We are representing a Houston-based industrial equipment manufacturer seeking a General Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations.

About the Role

This is not a corporate strategy role. The person hired will spend significant time on the manufacturing floor, working directly with supervisors, leads, technicians, fabrication teams, assembly teams, and testing personnel.
