Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Spartanburg, SC seeks a General Manager to oversee daily plant operations from production to policy compliance. You will drive safety, quality, and productivity, while guiding performance and employee development in a multi-shift environment.

You will interact with customers, lead HR initiatives, and champion Lean improvements. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in plant leadership, plus ERP/MRP experience, are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years’ experience leading the operation of a multi-shift production facility.
• Proven leadership experience required.
• Strong business acumen including P&L, strategic planning, resource allocation and HR.
• Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, inventory and stewardship processes.
• MS Office (Excel) and ERP/MRP experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and prioritize operational goals; manage projects to meet goals and deadlines.
• Direct the team to overcome challenges and drive performance.
• Lead recruiting with HR to build a capable staff for the plant.
• Mentor team members and identify future leaders within the company.
• Interface with customers on key issues and communicate action plans.
• Establish yearly KPIs and drive improvement against them.
• Prepare and present memos, reports, and presentations.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
