Idaho National Laboratory is seeking an intern to join our Fire Protection Engineering team on-site in Idaho Falls. You will support a designated organization, assist with fire protection system design reviews, work orders, engineering changes, and fire impairments, helping identify and resolve fire and life safety issues across the laboratory.

The internship runs on a 4x10 schedule onsite at our Idaho Falls campus.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be enrolled full-time in an ABET-accredited program in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT/OPT).
• Resume, unofficial transcripts, and current class schedule required.
• Eligible for course credit may be available.

Responsabilités

• Support fire protection system design reviews, work orders and engineering changes.
• Assist with fire impairments and identify/resolve fire and life safety issues.
• Research and apply industry fire protection codes and standards; engage with researchers and craftspeople.
• Participate in inspections and testing of sprinkler, detection and alarm systems.
