Idaho National Laboratory is seeking an intern to join our Fire Protection Engineering team. As an intern you will support a designated organization, assist with fire protection system design reviews, work orders, engineering changes, fire impairments, and help identify and resolve fire and life safety issues across the laboratory.

This internship offers hands‑on experience, practical fire protection engineering skills, and exposure to real‑world operational challenges at INL.

Competenze

• Enrolled full time in an ABET-accredited college/university studying Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum overall 3.0 GPA.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT).
• Current resume or CV.
• Unofficial transcripts (include current and completed programs).
• Current class schedule and number of credits.

Mansioni

• Research and apply industry fire protection codes and standards.
• Engage with craftspeople and researchers.
• Participate in fire protection system inspections and testing (sprinklers, detection, alarms).
• Assist with fire protection system design reviews, work orders, and engineering changes.
• Identify and help resolve fire and life safety issues across the laboratory.
