Job summary

Chet's Rent-All, a long‑standing equipment and tool rental company serving the greater Detroit area, is seeking an Equipment Service Technician. You will help ensure rental equipment is safe, clean, reliable, and ready for customers, performing maintenance and inspections as needed.

The role emphasizes safety, hands-on work with equipment, and the opportunity to train and develop mechanical and technical skills in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic maintenance skills.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and other yard equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Physical ability to lift, move, and handle equipment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to all customers and partners.
• Operate equipment for loading and unloading for customers, internal drivers, and outside haulers.
• Follow all safety procedures and properly use PPE.
• Explain safe operating procedures of equipment to customers.
• Perform routine checks to ensure equipment is safe and in proper working condition.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard, storage areas, and workspaces.
• Clean and maintain the appearance of equipment.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment or facility.
• Complete inspection checklists and report issues to the Store Manager.
• Inspect returned equipment for damage, missing parts, or maintenance needs.
• Secure equipment to prevent accidents, hazards, or unauthorized use.
• Support team members as needed.
