Job summary

Chet’s Rent‑All in the greater Detroit area is seeking a dependable Rental Yard Associate to support efficient yard operations. You will load and unload equipment, keep assets clean and ready for use, and assist customers and team members with a safety‑minded approach.

In this hands‑on role, you’ll perform routine cleaning, basic maintenance, and safety checks, contribute to organized storage and accurate equipment staging, and help ensure on‑time pickups and returns for a high‑demand rental

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license; Chauffeur license preferred.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other yard equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic maintenance skills.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Physical ability to lift, move, and handle equipment.
• Team‑oriented with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment for loading and unloading for customers, internal drivers, and outside haulers.
• Follow all safety procedures and properly use PPE.
• Provide excellent customer service and explain safe operating procedures to customers.
• Perform routine checks on rental equipment to ensure it is safe and in proper working condition.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard, storage areas, and workspaces.
• Clean and maintain the appearance of equipment.
• Inspect returned equipment for damage, missing parts, or maintenance needs.
• Complete inspection checklists and report any issues to the Store Manager.
• Secure equipment to prevent accidents, hazards, or unauthorized use.
• Perform other duties as requested and support team members as needed.
• Fill propane tanks.
