Job summary

Chet’s Rent-All, a family-owned equipment and tool rental company serving the greater Detroit area since 1946, seeks an Equipment Service Technician. You’ll ensure rental gear is safe, reliable, and ready for customers, performing basic maintenance and inspections.

You’ll work outdoors in varying weather, operate forklifts, and follow PPE and safety procedures while providing outstanding service to contractors and homeowners. Training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license; Chauffeur license preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic maintenance skills.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other yard equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Physical ability to lift, move, and handle equipment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to all customers and partners.
• Operate equipment for loading and unloading for customers, internal drivers, and outside haulers.
• Follow all safety procedures and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Explain safe operating procedures of equipment to customers.
• Perform routine checks to ensure equipment is safe and in proper working condition.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard, storage areas, and workspaces.
• Clean and maintain the appearance of equipment.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment or facility.
• Complete inspection checklists and report issues to the Store Manager.
• Inspect returned equipment for damage, missing parts, or maintenance needs.
• Secure equipment to prevent accidents, hazards, or unauthorized use.
• Support team members as needed.

We are looking for a dependable, safety-focused Equipment Service Technician to join our team. This role ensures rental equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for customer use, playing a key part in delivering an outstanding rental experience.

Key Responsibilities
