Job summary

Worky is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead an engineering team for a fast-growing HealthTech client. The role combines hands-on coding with people leadership and strategic decisions, including architecture and roadmap ownership.

The position is fully remote, 40 hours per week, and reports to the CEO. Start date is August 31, 2026, with a fixed-term of 12-14 months and 20 days of prorated vacation in year one.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Recent hands-on experience writing production code
• Experience with software architecture and technical decision-making
• Leadership experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead or Team Lead
• Experience coaching and mentoring engineers
• Strong understanding of agile product delivery
• Experience in a startup or fast-moving technology environment
• Excellent communication skills in English
• The ability to work autonomously and take ownership quickly

Responsibilities

• Write, review and ship production code
• Shape technical architecture and engineering decisions
• Lead, coach and develop the software engineering team
• Own sprint execution, agile delivery and roadmap planning
• Maintain high standards around DevOps, CI/CD, reliability, privacy and security
• Work closely with Product, Sales, Customer Success and other stakeholders
• Support hiring and development of the engineering team
• Translate technical decisions into clear business outcomes
