Job summary

SkyBridge Luxury & Associates is seeking a hands-on Chief Engineer to lead preventive maintenance for a high-end resort in San Diego. You will oversee an engineering team, ensuring guest comfort, safety, and top-tier property conditions.

The role entails roughly 80% field work with the remaining time on scheduling, purchasing, and work-order administration. Candidates should have 8+ years in building maintenance and leadership in a complex hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of building maintenance experience.
• Leadership in a complex hotel or resort environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical and building systems.
• Proven ability to lead, train, and develop engineering teams.
• Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills.
• Proactive, solutions-oriented leadership with urgency.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive maintenance programs and respond promptly to guest, member, and operational needs.
• Recruit, train, and motivate an engineering team across trades.
• Maintain high standards for property condition, safety, equipment, and guest experience.
• Support sustainability initiatives by improving efficiency and reducing impact.
• Collaborate with resort leadership to address maintenance and operational needs.
• Create a positive, accountable, team-focused environment.
