Job summary

The Southern Virginia Higher Education Center seeks an Energy/Electrical Instructor to deliver high-quality classroom and hands-on instruction in energy and electrical trades, aligning with NCCER Electrical Levels 1–4. You will develop labs, materials, and assessments to prepare students for careers in the energy sector.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of electrical or energy systems across theory, generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Extensive work experience in electrical trade, energy industry, or related fields.
• Ability to design hands-on labs from real-world scenarios for training.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with diverse audiences.
• Proficient digital literacy and comfort with standard office tools.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom and hands-on instruction in energy and electrical trades.
• Develop instructional materials, labs, and assessments aligned with NCCER Levels 1–4.
• Ensure a safe, industry-relevant learning environment and partner with industry.
• Support workforce training programs and credentialing opportunities.
