Job summary

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) seeks a full-time Electrical Instructor to deliver workforce training that prepares students for entry-level electrical employment and credential attainment. The instructor will manage classrooms and labs, develop curriculum, and align training with regional needs.

Responsibilities include NCCER instruction, safety oversight, student assessments, and collaboration with employers to build strong training pathways.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus an electrical apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Five+ years in electrical trades with installation, testing, and repair experience.
• Ability to obtain NCCER instructor certification for assigned courses.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging classroom and hands-on electrical instruction and labs.
• Teach NCCER Core and Electrical courses and develop curriculums.
• Prepare syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments with clear outcomes.
• Ensure safety and proper use of electrical tools and equipment.
• Support credential attainment and coordinate with employers for training.
