Job summary

Aegis Manufacturing & Engineering in Knightstown, IN is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Assembly Cell Lead to guide hands-on assembly of mechanical, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical units and steer priorities for on-time production. You will mentor teammates, coordinate labor, track quality and material flow, and maintain a safe, organized work area.

Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read drawings and BOMs are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, assembly, machine building or related production setting.
• Proven leadership in a team lead/supervisor role or strong informal leadership.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on assembly capability.
• Ability to read work instructions, engineering drawings, and BOMs.
• Familiarity with ERP or manufacturing tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Daily direction, task assignment, and labor coordination aligned to production priorities.
• Hands-on assembly across mechanical, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical builds.
• Training, cross-training, and ongoing coaching for team members.
• Tracking attendance, productivity, and quality; escalations to management when needed.
• Communications with materials, scheduling, and other departments about shortages and timing.
• Inventory stewardship: stock monitoring, receiving/issuing, cycle counts.
• Work-order review and confirmation that materials and labor are recorded correctly.
• Support for shipping prep and final quality inspections as required.
• Participation in daily production meetings with clear updates on priorities and constraints.
• Promoting teamwork, accountability, quality, and safety.
