Job summary

MOHR Talent in Gulfport, MS is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design electrical systems in AutoCAD and Revit, develop power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and low voltage schemes, and prepare panel schedules.

This in-person, full-time role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, hands-on AutoCAD experience, NEC knowledge, and relevant project experience; Revit MEP is a strong plus. MV experience and licensure pursuits are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on AutoCAD experience required; Revit MEP experience a strong plus.
• Experience with building electrical systems such as power, lighting, fire alarm, or low voltage.
• K-12, education, municipal, or institutional project experience is a big plus.
• 5kV or 15kV medium voltage experience is a strong plus.
• PE, EIT, or FE, or interest in pursuing PE licensure, is a plus but not required.
• Working knowledge of NEC and applicable local codes.

Responsibilities

• Personally design and draft electrical systems in AutoCAD and/or Revit, no handing designs off to a separate CAD team
• Develop power distribution systems and one-line diagrams
• Design lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems, and prepare accurate panel schedules
• Perform lighting calculations, branch circuiting, and load calculations
• Write and maintain project specifications and construction documents
• Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, and structural teams to deliver code compliant designs
• Work across a mix of education, municipal, and commercial building projects
• Support projects from concept through construction administration
