Job summary

Mide Technology seeks an Electrical Engineering Intern/Co-op to contribute to Test Systems and Automation on a government contract. You will work with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to design, build, and commission an instrumented test stand with sensors, motors, and safety interlocks.

Qualifications

• Strong academic record in an Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering degree.
• Knowledge of analog circuits such as sensors and basic signal conditioning.
• Programming experience in Python or another language, with hardware integration.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for the project.
• Upperclassmen, access to personal vehicle, and GPA 3.2 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Source and integrate sensors, data acquisition hardware, motor drives, and actuator interfaces.
• Manually wire sensors and equipment, create schematics and wiring diagrams, and troubleshoot electrical connections.
• Code a Python software interface to acquire, record, and visualize real‑time sensor data and support actuator control and automated test sequences.
• Develop monitoring software to detect abnormal conditions and initiate controlled test shutdowns with safety interlocks.
• Create a user manual detailing operation of the interface and equipment, including software documentation.
• Calibrate measurement channels, verify system performance, and document lessons learned and proposed improvements.
