Job summary

KLA Industries, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Embedded OS Engineer to own the Ubuntu-based Linux firmware stack on our MK2 drone platform. You will design, secure, and ship the OS through automated CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires deep work with Yocto/BitBake, headless devices, and low-level system internals, plus the ability to optimize builds, harden security, and collaborate with hardware and software teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on embedded OS experience for firmware, low-level Linux internals, and Yocto
• Ability to navigate BitBake, image recipes, and rootfs customization
• Experience with CI/CD automation, Jenkins pipelines, and build optimization

Responsibilities

• Own the Ubuntu-based firmware stack for MK2 drone platform
• Write and maintain BitBake recipes and patches against upstream BSP
• Harden rootfs, implement post-processing and OS hardening steps
• Improve Jenkins pipelines, manage build isolation and artifact staging
• Configure systemd services, network and device stability for headless devices
• Assist with security remediation and compliance artifacts
